I was born in Germany, where I spent the majority of my childhood. After travelling for a year with an international, educational organization to promote inter-cultural understanding, I decided to pursue my undergrad and graduate studies in California.
I am a single father and my son is by far the most important influence in my life. Since his birth, my life decisions have centered around him and what is in his best interest. I left behind a fancy and shiny career in corporate America because I have learned that your style of life is more important than your lifestyle. Staying on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and joining Potomac has proven to be the right choice for my family. Potomac is the first company that has shown it is family-oriented and not just a place with a fancy catch phrase. Egos, hierarchy and the “food chain” have no place in this company– we are one team, supporting, helping and challenging each other to be the best we can be.
I enjoy sailing, windsurfing, boating, fishing and really any time on or near the water. During the summer, I crew on a Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe (that’s an old sailboat) that was built in 1894. Fall is the prime time for my son and I to be out on our boat and catch some Rockfish (striped bass). If I don’t exercise or workout, I can get awfully grumpy, however a ride on my Harley can also remedy that. I recently joined “Athletes Serving Athletes” and am looking forward to assisting less fortunate individuals as they participate in running races. Giving back and being grateful are important character traits to me. Every now and then, most of us would benefit from a slice of humble pie.
